TeamPolicies
LSSL requires all sports officials to enforce the sportsmanship rules for coaches, contestants and spectators. Actions meant to demean opposing swimmers, teams, spectators and officials are not in the highest ideals of summer swimming and will not be tolerated. Let each contest reflect mutual respect.
True to the spirit of the league's code of conduct, we hold firmly that the Bent Creek summer swim team should foster a culture in which swimmers of all levels and abilities come together to have fun, learn valuable life skills, and compete in a positive and supportive environment.
Respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and spectators through kind words and positive cheering. Includes a 3-strike disciplinary process for both swimmers and parents.
Swimmers must be 5+ years old as of June 1st and able to swim 25m unaided. Fees posted by March 15th and charged to your member account. Refund schedule applies through June 15th.
Parents must complete the online sign-up for every meet — whether attending or not. Deadline is noon 2 days before dual meets, and noon 14 days before invitationals and championships.
Swimmers must go to the host pool regardless of weather — officials determine outcomes on-site. No swimmers in the water if thunder is heard or lightning seen. 15-min wait after thunder; 30-min after lightning.
Age groups set by June 1st birthday. Coaches assign all dual meet events and relay order. Swimmers must stay in the pool area, remain out of the water unless competing, and stay for the full meet unless coaches are notified 48 hours in advance.
Practices are for registered team members only. Swimmers must attend their assigned age-group session, arrive on time and ready to swim, bring their own towel, and leave the pool deck clean and tidy.
Each family is required to volunteer for at least one job at every meet their swimmer participates in — home, away, invitational, and championship meets. Sign up early on the home page to get your first choice.
Two main fundraisers: the Lazy Summer donation at registration (covers coach salaries & equipment), and a Bake Sale at every home meet. Each family donates at least one baked item per home meet. Proceeds fund the end-of-season banquet.
